September 11, 1944 - February 12, 2021
On Friday, Feb. 12, 2021 Alicer Simon Guidry entered into her eternal rest. She was born in Marksville, La on Sept. 11, 1944 to Tellis Simon Sr. and Covana McIntosh Simon. She accepted the Lord at the age of 12 and was baptized on July 19, 1957 at the starlight Baptist church, by the Reverend Clifton Jones.
She was a graduate of Mary McLeod Bethune High School. Alicer Married Edward James Guidry and into this union three children were born: Conrad, Patrick, and Missi.
She was a faithful parishioner of New Providence Baptist Church where Reverend Freddy G. Brown serves as her pastor.
Alicer was a devout Christian who stood firmly in her faith, loved the Lord, and people in general. Although she was a woman of few words, she would tirelessly give of herself to others. Above all else she loved being a Mother and Grandmother.
Alicer is preceded in death by her parents, Tellis Simon Sr. and Covana McIntosh, One son Edward Conrad Guidry. Two brothers: Reverend Tellis Simon Sr. and Sagel A. Simon. Two sisters Ardrien L. Simon and Marva S. Holmes.
She leaves to cherish her memory: One son, Bernard Patrick Guidry (Angela) of Lake Charles, Louisiana. One daughter, Lillian “Missi” Guidry of Anaheim, California; One brother Benjamin C. Simon (Linda) of Frierson, Louisiana; One sister, Barbara J. Green of Kingwood, Texas; Four grandchildren Kyle, Jalen, Taylor and Gabrielle; Two Godchildren; One great grandchild, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Graveside will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, in Sacred Heart Cemetery at 2 pm. Her visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in Fondel Memorial Chapel. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Fondel Memorial Chapel.
