July 27, 1942 - August 27, 2018

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

II Timothy 4:7

On July 27, 1942 God gave Alma Jane Scott, “breath of life” and she “became a living soul.” She was born at Fisher’s Farm, Welsh, Louisiana to her parents, the late Freeman and Elnora Scott. She transitioned her earthly life on August 27, 2018. Her mother passed away at an early age.

Alma Jane was a resident in Fenton, LA for many years. On May 16, 1960 she married the love of her life, to the late Jessie Boese, Sr. three children were born and later divorced. They reunited after 27 years and remained together until his passing on October 25, 2017. She was a resident of Fenton, Louisiana when she departed this life to be with the Lord.

She was baptized at an early age, and later accepted salvation. She was a member at Greater St. Joseph Baptist Church, and her Pastor Arnold Wykoff whom she loved dearly.

She attended Bethune High School, Welsh, Louisiana. She worked and retired from the Evangeline Telephone Company in Welsh, Louisiana, then she worked as a hotel clerk at Holiday Inn in Jennings and then went to America’s Best Suites for many years until her final retirement.

She loved to dance and listen to “Old School and Zydeco” music, watching Family Fued, Have and Have Nots, Green Leaf, Queen Sugar, very OLD black, the News and white Western movies, sports on TV. She LOVED hanging out with family, friends and going to the Casino. But most of all, the most important thing that mattered to her, was attending Bible Study, Sunday School and Worship Services ON TIME. She wanted everyone to be saved to know Jesus and have Him as the head of their life. She lived life to the fullest. She had the best Vacation of her Life when she went on a “Girls Road Trip” with Aunt Doris Lemonier as Thelma and Louise, but they just didn’t drive off of the cliff. LOL! But, her life sickness and struggles are over and now truly and completely “Healed & Delivered.”

She is survived by ten children, Shawanda Boese Sowells, Jessie (Krisi) Boese, Jr, of Fenton, LA, Marquetta (Larry) Taylor of Lake Charles, LA, Anthony Meadows of Fenton, LA, Saisha & Kiyami Thomas of Lake Charles, LA, Sonya Fontenot & Marlon Scott of Fenton, Ray (Cassandra) of Dallas, TX, Vickie (Randy) Dunbar of Fenton, LA; one brother, Herbert Joubert, Brunswick, Georgia, five sisters, Annie Lee (Griffin) Keyes and Juanita Alfred of Beaumont, TX.; Freida (JW) Lewis of Escondido, CA.; and Dorothy (Wil J) Francis of Houston, TX, Diane (Daniel) Alfred of Fenton, LA.; one uncle, Forrest (Marcalene) Scott of Port Arthur, TX.; 14 Grandchildren, Latyra Guillory, Shanea Lyons, Brandon Khounnala, Katelyn Boese, Jeremiah Sowells, Kamryn Pete, Demetric Thomas, Kenyon & Shanaya Boese, Tyrian & Larry Taylor Jr., Dredyn Baptiste, Keshanna & Courtney Fisher; three great grandchildren, Brooklyn Lyons, Travon Guillory & Layah Nelson; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, nurses and doctors.
