Anthony Curtis Miller, 62, transitioned on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020. He was the 5th child born to Mr. and Mrs. Roosevelt (Joyce Marie Spikes) Miller. Tony was a 1978 graduate of Washington Marion High School. He attended Southern University of Baton Rouge, LA. He worked for the city of Lake Charles as a director for the recreation department at the Chennault Gym and was a volunteer sheriff deputy for over 10 years. He retired from Firestone after 22 years of service.
Tony continued working in the community. He volunteered with Tournament of the Stars working with children and supported them in different sport activities. He was a diehard Cowboy fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr.and Mrs. Roosevelt (Joyce Marie Spikes); sibling, Roosevelt, Jr. (T-June) Miller.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife of 36 years, Matilda (Green) Miller; sisters, Hessie Marie Reed, Eva (Steve) Abraham, Beulah Hilts, Mary “T-Jack” Miller, Sarah ( Junius) “Mickey” Morgan; three brothers, Ronald (Marjorie) Lee Miller, Sr., Troy (Larryette) Malone, Ashley Spikes; mother-in-law, Joyce Marie Green; sister-in-laws, Loretha (Michael) Ned, Margaret Ward, and Alma Green; brother-in-laws, Jewel Green, Ray Charles Green, Clivis “Beadie” Green, Melvin Green, and Austin Latigue; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at New Covenant of Faith Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at the church. Burial will follow in Combre Memorial Park.
