Aubrey Balket entered into eternal rest peacefully on January 3, 2021, at the age of 82. He was born on June 5, 1938, in Chataignier, LA to the late Willie Balket and Stella Dentley.
Pastor Aubrey Balket dedicated his life to God at an early age. He was a hard-working man. He attended Jeff Davis Trade School where he obtained his certification as a mechanic. Aubrey worked as a farmer and mechanic for many years. On July 25, 1958, at age of 21 he was united in holy matrimony to his loving wife Alice Richard. Together they bore eight children. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Pastor Aubrey was a wonderful musician and singer. Later in life he was called to be an Evangelist which led him to become the founder and Pastor of Mt. Moriah Holiness Church in Elton, LA. Pastor Aubrey Dean Balket was the true definition of a leader. Quiet, humble, and kindhearted; he helped many people spiritually and never had an enemy.
He leaves to cherish his loving wife Alice Balket; five sons, Aubrey (Ida) Balket of Lake Charles, LA, Jerry (Wanda) Balket of Moss Bluff, LA, Michael Balket of Kinder, LA, Malcom ( Karen) Balket of Houston, TX, Damien (Ashley) Balket of Houston, TX; three daughters, Lorinda Matthew of Mamou, LA, Debra (Wesley) Kelly of Sulphur, LA, and Kimberlyn (Van Jr) Rousell of Stafford, TX; three brothers, Linton Thomas, Roger Thomas, and Milton Thomas, 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Stella Balket; four brothers, Rodney Thomas, Harry Lee Thomas, Edward Thomas, Clarence Thomas; three sisters Viola Actlis, Mildred Thomas, and Hazel Poullard.
His visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral service for immediate family at Holiness unto The Lord Church in Elton, LA. Burial in St. John Cemetery.
