May 24, 1940 - June 19,2019

Eva (Yves) Mae Daniel was born in Plaisance, LA, May 24, 1940, to the late Alfred Daniel, Sr. and Virginia Guillory Daniel. She was the baby of seven children. Her family moved to Lake Charles, LA, when Eva was ten years old.

They were members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and later she united with and was baptized at Tarsus Bible Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Leroy Griffin. She served faithfully in her church until her health declined. She was proud to say she knew the LORD Jesus Christ as her personal savior. She loved reading the Book of Psalms and reciting the Lord’s Prayer. Eva and her husband owned Remadoser Janitorial Service, Inc. for twenty years where she served as the Office Manager. Also, she was formerly employed with TG&Y and Goldring’s, a boutique for women.

Eva was a beautiful-fashionista known for being stylish and well-dressed. She enjoyed wearing high heels and believed every outfit should have shoes that made the ensemble “pop.” As early as ten, her dexterity was revealed when she knitted bonnets and sewed baby clothes for her newborn nephews without a pattern. She said, “my nephews were like my baby dolls.” She was an exceptional seamstress and designer and would often make her own patterns out of newspaper or alter an existing pattern. She frequently redesigned clothing that she purchased off of the rack and tailored them to her taste. In addition to her passion for sewing, Eva was also the executive chef for her family and could make a delicious meal out of anything. One of the family favourites was a special dish she named “Goulash,” which was a combination of leftovers from the refrigerator that was fit for royalty. Eva was a nurturer and treasured her family dearly. She looked forward to visits from family. No family member left her home without viewing her photo albums filled with polaroids of relatives. She was an avid reader, enjoyed scrabble, crossword puzzles and took pride in teaching her grandchildren the definition of words.

Eva became a double Daniel when she married Charles Daniel, her loving husband of almost 54 years and caregiver for the last 10 years, who she is survived by. She also leaves to cherish her memories; daughter-niece Edriena (Pastor Edward) Alexander, Jr., bonus-daughter Jeanette (Tony) Walker, son Dennis (Trina Smith) Daniel; daughter-in-law Rosie Jackson, granddaughter Taylor Alexander, grandsons Isaiah Alexander of Lake Charles, LA and Dennis Daniel, Jr. of Humble, TX and bonus granddaughters, Irrielle Walker, Gabrielle Papillion, Danielle Papillion, Kielle Walker; great grandchildren Favour Boyd, Jonathan Daniel, Jaden Daniel, Jordan Daniel, Kingston Lampkins and Jyasi Dixon; goddaughters Patsy Welch and Angela Broussard, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Eva went to sleep with her husband by her side, Wednesday, June 19 at Christus Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving son, Gerard Jackson. She was the last living and baby of her siblings - sisters, Lula Daniel, Lou Bertha Daniel Papillion and Lou Anna Daniel Broussard; her brothers, Ervin Daniel, Albert Daniel, Sr. and Alfred Daniel, Jr.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 24, 2019, from 10:00 A.M. to Noon at Fondel Memorial Chapel, located at 832 N. Lyons St., Lake Charles, LA., with funeral service beginning at Noon. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Fondel Memorial Chapel.
