Joseph L. (Bird) Narcisse, 72

July 22, 1948 - January 22, 2021


Joseph L. (Bird) Narcisse entered eternal rest peacefully on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Camelot Jennings Nursing facility. He was surrounded by family. He was born on July 22, 1948, to the late Horace Narcisse, Sr. and Josephine Chaisson Narcisse. As a young man, he worked for City Service plant (Citgo) and then started Narcisse Auto Shop. He is a member of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church.


He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 48 years, Natalie Narcisse; two daughters, Millie A. Jones of Orange, TX, and Jill (James) Johnson of Lake Charles, LA; son, Joseph (Gwen) Narcisse of Lithia Springs, GA; six grandchildren, Menka (Billy) Bertrand, Geary (Babydoll) Jones, Lavandon Coleman, Quinneisha ( Matthew) Hayes, Eboni Johnson, Ethan Johnson; Godchild, Brit’ny Munoz of California; 12 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; sisters, Gertrude ( Charles) Drake and Virgie Narcisse both of Lake Charles; brothers, Rev. Clarence (Debra) Narcisse, Sr. of Lake Charles and Joseph (Margie) Narcisse of Abbeville, LA.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Gertie Narcisse, Mary Louise McKay, and Dutchess Henry; brothers, Cuban Narcisse, Elise, Narcisse, and Horace Narcisse, Jr.


Joseph Narcisse’s visitation will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., funeral service to immediately follow at Fondel Memorial Chapel. Pastor Tim Ceasar will officiate. Due to COVD-19 restrictions, the viewing is open to everyone and the funeral service is restricted to family only. Masks are required.


In compliance with the current state COVID-19 order, the family respectfully requests all attendants to wear face masks and practice social distancing.
