October 29, 1988 - June 22, 2018
Peter LeWayne (Daigle) McCarthy, 29, departed this world on June 22, 2018 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He will forever be remembered as an outstanding father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was a 2008 graduate of Alfred M. Barbe High School and a 2011 graduate of Sowela Technical Community College in Process Plant Technology. He was an employee of Sasol North America and a Reserve Deputy for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The oldest child to the late Peter Lunsford McCarthy and Bernadine (Daigle) Berry, he entered into this world with special gifts that allowed him to touch the lives of so many with his smile, words, and good deeds. Spending time with his daughter, family, riding motorcycles, traveling, and working out is where he found the most joy in his life. He aspired to become an airplane pilot and start his own private airplane charter company.
His daughter, Brynn, was his pride and joy. There’s no denying that, his “Tot” as he affectionately called her, was the apple of his eye. Her presence brought him complete joy.
Loved ones that cleared the path for Peter to make his way into the next life are his father, Peter Lunsford McCarthy; grandmothers, Annie Maecella Guillory Daigle and Maudrey Lee Handy McCarthy, and grandfather, Adam Howard Daigle.
He is survived by his daughter, Brynn Noel McCarthy; his mother and stepfather, Bernadine (Randall) Berry; his brother, Patrick McCarthy; his sister, Jessica Pete; his grandfather, George McCarthy; his fiancée, Brittany Victorian; his aunts, Menelika Basele, Janise (Robert) Lewis, Catherine McCarthy, Shonna Monique (Arnold Lyle) Lewis, Chriscella (Emile) Metoyer, Christina Daigle, and Marlise (Keith) Cezair; his uncle, Thomas Daigle, Sr.; his dogs, Terrabelle, Hachi, and Aspen; and a host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and friends.
