Trevelyn Johnson

June 12, 1950 -June 20, 2018.

Trevelyn Marie Duhon Johnson, affectionally known as Treve, was born on June 12, 1950 to Ernest Duhon and Helen Ledet Duhon in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She peacefully transitioned to everlasting rest as God called her home on Wednesday, June 20, 2018.

She graduated from Washington-Marion High School in 1968 and was join in holy matrimony to William Lee Johnson on January 25,1980 and from this union, two children were born.

Trevelyn enjoyed her life to the fullest. She was a very hard worker and she instilled those values into her children. She loved her children and enjoyed spending time with them. Her hobbies were playing softball, attending live music concerts and dancing, performing arts, and drinking a ice cold coke while reading her favorite book. Trevelyn was actively involved in her church and community. Although she was a “Tell it like it is woman” she had a heart of gold and would help everyone she could when needed. It was always a goal of hers to finish her schooling and in December of 2014 she graduated from Sowela Technical College. Her determination to finish what she’s started in life is an inspiration to all who knew her and that will forever live in their hearts.

Trevelyn was preceded in death by her parents and niece.

Survivors are her husband, William Lee Johnson and her children William and Anthony Johnson. She is also survived by her siblings, Gregory (Rosiland) Duhon, Matilda (Sherman) Durousseau, Alice (Carl) Leblanc, and Ernestine Duhon. Also she’s survived by a host of devoted nieces, nephews, family, friends, and neighbors.
